take the stage

of song, dance, and comedy

hello there, this is my first official post.
well... I know this is supposed to be a scrapblog, but my projects are few and rather far between so most of the time it'll be photos or whatsoever is on my mind.
I will be uploading backlogged scrap projects soon, but in the meantime...

The exams just ended so the day was filled with activities, including a Film Literacy Class that covered the history and milestones in Southeast-Asian Cinema, especially in a localized context. Well, between the cool vintage 'cinematographs' and snippets of Singaporean-indie productions, we got pretty bored.  I'd never EVER dare to get a real tattoo, but honestly these black ballpoint inks looked rather realistic, which is sufficiently awesome. :D

The highlight of the day by far, however, was the annual Talent Search Finals. This year had quite a wide variety of performances. There were the  rock bands (Dice & C.P.) an all-girl Acapella group (Choo Choo Train), a pajama-loving quartet (the Quarterers), a solo of 'Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You' and a duet  that had the whole auditorium cheering.

The more eccentric acts included a wonderfully theatrical cover from the musical Love Never Dies and a Japanese song from Final Fantasy XIII with the singer decked in full Cosplay garb. There was also a pair of girls who did a comedy short about unrequited Puppy Love that was Charlie Chaplin inspired for sure!

Last but not least were the Dance Groups! They were simply awesome. A troupe named Minus^2 did a mashup that borrowed from Step Up 2's famous raindance closing scene (with Moose as a "puppetmaster"), whilst another (Beast[X]) did a duo of Korean pop songs changing roles from 'guys' to 'girls' halfway through. A class put together a Gleeky rendition of "Dancing Queen" too!

So... this marks the end of my first post. =)
